Our dear friend and engageworship band bassist Sunil Chandy has set himself a challenge for Lent - post one piece of music per day, on the Lenten theme of wilderness.  He is looking at various biblical passages of wilderness, and relating them to his own life experience in some honest blog reflections.  The result is some truly stunning electronic music - a particularly moving favourite is his piece 'Moses stares into the promised land':

It's a great idea to 'take something up' for Lent rather than the preoccupation with 'giving something up', and why not some sort of creative, reflective spiritual discipline?  Let us know if you try/hear of any others...

Sunil Chandy is a composer, arranger and transcriber as well as a multi-instrumentalist musician whose first love is the bass guitar. He has performed in bands in the U.S., the U.K. and India, across genres from Rock, & Metal to Jazz and Indian Classical fusion. He has been music director in a church and a university, and now runs www.themusicscribe.com
