Rhythms of Rest will begin with a morning retreat. The afternoon will give you the option to continue this retreat or choose a second workshop stream. The day is aimed at those who lead worship and services - pastors, music teams, worship leaders and other staff and volunteers.

We live in a hectic world, and much of our Sunday gathered worship has often picked up an unhealthy sense of striving, rushing and noise. We can feel tired, under-resourced and overy-busy. In the middle of these challenges, God may be inviting us to simpler, less hurried forms of worship that are more reliant on his Word and his Spirit than technology and techniques. There is an opportunity to go deeper as we help congregations be still and know God.

The day will run as follows:

  • The morning will provide space for rest in God, through sung worship, simple creative ideas and Bible reflection. The emphasis will be on each person connecting with God in stillness and being renewed.
  • The afternoon workshop will help leaders and teams be equipped with ideas and resources to lead worship which is simpler, more sustainable and creates spaces for honest encounters with God. We will share resources and principles that are adaptable and usable in your context. Alternatively, you can choose to remain in the retreat stream for the afternoon.

This day will be led by Sara & Sam Hargreaves. We're being hosted by St Luke's in Leagrave, Luton. This is a 10 minute walk from Leagrave railway station, and there is plenty of parking for those who drive (3 minutes from Junction 11 of the M1).

Tickets are £15 for waged, £10 for unwaged. Group booking discount means you can bring your whole team and save money (5 for £50). Tickets include coffee and tea, please bring your own packed lunch.
