The Good Shepherd
This is a riff on the passage in Ezekiel 34 about God being the good shepherd.
The repeated lines could be said by the congregation.
Extract from the reading:
For thus says the Lord GOD:
I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
I won't stay at a distance. I will come out into the world I made.
Whatever the circumstances, whatever the weather.
For thus says the Lord GOD:
I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
I will get my hands dirty, I'll search high and low.
I won't leave my sheep abandoned and lost.
For thus says the Lord GOD:
I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
I will risk everything to find and feed them, even if it should cost me dearly.
I will spend all my energy, all my time.
For thus says the Lord GOD:
I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
Even if it takes me to death itself.
I will cross that threshold, lay down my life, and surrender everything.
For thus says the Lord GOD:
I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.
My sheep are precious to me,
it breaks my heart to see them wandering and lost, without a shepherd...
