My Shelter and My Shadow - Psalm 91 paraphrase
This is a beautiful paraphrase of Psalm 91, with a repeated refrain or chorus. You might want to use two readers - one to read the main text, and the other to lead the congregation in the chorus. If you would like an action or two, you could have everyone make a roof with their arms, over their heads, when they say "shelter" and "home", and then place their hands over their face, when they say "shadow" and "hiding place".
Excerpt from the script:
You who dwell in the shelter of God Most High,
who make your home in the shadow of the Almighty One,
Will say to the Lord, "You are my refuge. You are my fortress.
You are the One in whom I place my trust."
My shelter and my shadow,
my home and my hiding place.
And because you have made the Most High your home,
and because He is your refuge,
no evil will fall upon you,
no calamity will collapse your tent.
My shelter and my shadow,
my home and my hiding place.
For He will tell his angels to watch over you.
And they will reach down,
and they will lift you up - just so -
and you will not even stub your toe.
My shelter and my shadow,
my home and my hiding place...
