Poetic Patterns for Prayer
Christians have been praying together morning and evening for centuries, sometimes alone, sometimes in groups. This resource is a pattern for this type of daily office, written in a variety of poetic styles. You could use it as it is, or break it up into sections and use them on their own. It includes Psalms, a creed, confessions, intercessions and gathering and sending out liturgies.
The choice of material, particularly the psalms, stands in the line of patterns for morning and evening prayer which Christians in the western church have used since the 4th century. Versions of this office were used in the Sanctuary venue at New Wine North and East in 2012 and 2013.
