A poem riffing on the phrase from Psalm 8, "What are human beings that you are mindful of them, ordinary people that you care for them?" It touches on creation themes and science, but also our own human brokenness, and then looks towards the cross. As with many of Dave's poems, the call/response format suggests you might want to involve two readers, or include the congregation in saying the responses.

ordinary people that you care for them?

When I wonder at the intricate science of creation,
And the fragile features of this world,

What are human beings that you are mindful of them,
ordinary people that you care for them?

When I have to face another day, another week, another month of duty and difficulty,

What are human beings that you are mindful of them,
ordinary people that you care for them?...
