1 Cor 12:12-20 Active Reading
Here is an active version of 1 Corinthians 12:12-20.
Explain to the congregation that when they hear a word read, they make the following response:
- "Part(s)" - wiggle a body part.
- "Body" - grab the hands of two people around you (or other appropriate contact).
- "One" - hold up pointing finger and shout "one!"
- Any named body part - point to this part on your body.
This is a fun way of engaging with the reading, but it also makes you realise just how much Paul is emphasising our unity-in-diversity.
This could pair well with The Body Song. It is also part of the first week of our Whole Church Worship resource.
