The Rest Is Worship Saturdays create space for you to respond to Jesus' invitation to rest in him. In the mornings we'll be all together, with sung worship, reflection, teaching and discussion around the themes of The Rest Is Worship.

In the afternoons we'll split into two optional tracks:

  • One group will continue into a retreat space where they can go deeper in rest and reflection for themselves. This is ideal for those wanting to be guided into contemplation and restoration.
  • The second group will explore practically what it looks like to lead gathered worship which responds to God's invitation to rest. It is ideal for worship teams, pastors and anyone who leads groups in prayer or devotion. We'll highlight songs, prayers, contemplative practices and ways of organising our services so they are restful for all.

Our first Saturday will be hosted by Christ the King Church in Milton Keynes on 25th November 2023. This is a great venue, accessibly placed near the M1 and a 12 minute taxi ride from the train station. The day will be led by Sara & Sam Hargreaves.

The timing is ideal for those heading into the Advent season - pause to take a deeper breath and begin this time of year on the right foot. It will also give you ideas for leading a more restful Lent in your community.

The material is based on our popular book The Rest Is Worshipand the teaching and resources have been honed through use with groups like Spurgeons College, NEXUS Institute of Creative Arts (pictured below) the Salvation Army Mission Service, Bristol Baptist College, numerous Anglican churches and Congregationalist retreats.
