UK events report Early 2016
We really enjoyed being back in the UK for the last week of Feb 2016. The fun began with a day at Christchurch Welwyn, leading the morning service and then doing and afternoon of workshops. It culminated in a celebration service, featuring the music and creativity of the people we'd been training all through the day. Pastor Simon fed back: "Thank you both for an amazing day yesterday. It was very encouraging and helpful, and hopefully we can apply a lot of the things you said in our worship."
Next, on the Monday we had an absolute blast sharing with about 40 invited guests about our LICC project, Worship for the Frontline. It was really encouraging to receive feedback and new ideas for this book and resource. The following day we ran an evening training session for a LICC hub in Balham (where we previously lived for 5 years!)
Sam taught a couple of LST lectures on the Wednesday, and then on the Thursday we had a very fruitful meeting with the Trustees from MWF who oversee all our work. Sam also fitted in a Podcast recording with Joel from RESOUNDworship.
Finally, the icing on the cake for the week was a retreat weekend called Inside Out, at Wydale Hall near Scarborough. The unusual thing was this was for teengagers and their parents. The mix of ages and perspectives was really helpful and healthy, and we enjoyed exploring Romans 12 and contemplative spirituality with them. Praise God for a great week!
