New year, new town, new resources!
Hope 2011 is treating you well! Sam and Sara have had a crazy few weeks, finishing at St James, moving house to Luton, and even fitting in a worship training weekend at Saffron Walden Baptist! They were really welcoming and receptive, so we had a great time teaching about creative worship and then leading the service and preaching on Sunday morning (hear the sermon here.) Their pastor, Simon, fed back:
“Over the weekend you both gently drew us as a faith community into a more profound understanding of worship. People who have been normally very quiet, found a new way to express their worship of God. Our music group seemed more confident, and the church family on Sunday morning were all fully engaged. You provided such great biblical teaching which was also earthed in the practical, and your tangible love of Jesus were amongst the highlights I know for many."
We've also been able to post some new resources:
- The Church in Shadow - a powerful reflection on a painting by Van Gogh, and also
- The Beat Eucharist videos - visuals by the Rough Edge collective, used at an alternative communion service at Greenbelt 2010.
Sam has just posted a new article, suggesting that creating worship resources could be more helpfully described as 'design' than 'art' - see what you think and add to the discussion!
Please pray for us as we enter this new year, taking steps of faith and trusting God to open new doors!
