Hush song

Lectionary Weeks: Epiphany of the Lord (Year A), Epiphany of the Lord (Year B), Epiphany of the Lord (Year C)

This bluesy lament reflects the dissonant aspect of the Christmas season - the "massacre of the innocents" ordered by Herod (Matt 2:16-18). This is traditionally reflected upon on the 28th December, but you could also include it on Epiphany (when the set reading focuses more on the Wise Men).

Sunil's recording is below, but ideally you could have this performed by a solo singer. If you have a choir there is also a choral part in the PDF sheet music.
