Easter Promise
You will need:
A way of showing the powerpoint slides.
Many things in life promise much but fail to deliver. Putting our faith in money, fame, career, relationships, clothes, food, drink, houses etc can leave us feeling betrayed and empty. But at Easter we can remember one 'empty' promise that offered everything and didn't fail to deliver - the promise of the empty tomb. Jesus promised that in dying he would defeat death and in rising to life again three days later he would give us the gift of eternal life, and that is exactly what he did. The empty tomb on Easter morning powerfully brings home the message of a promise fulfilled.
Play this powerpoint presentation to the congregation before explaining the pictures, allowing the message to build up gradually. It could work as a start to a service, an introduction to a talk or as part of a time of worship.
