All Saints' Day Meditation

Instead of focussing on death towards the end of October, let's focus on the lives of the saints that have gone before us. All Saints' Day is traditionally marked on the 1st of November, but whether your church is traditional or not, you will hopefully find this meditation helpful.

The idea is that everyone will get to think of a Christian who have gone before them, someone who has done something admirable before God. Next, Hebrews 11 will be read, and 'our' heroes of the faith added to the list. Towards the end there is some space to think of our individual places as saints in the Kingdom of God - what will we do by faith?

You might want to finish the meditation with a piece of instrumental music, by singing a song (perhaps 'Men of faith'?) or by someone leading a prayer from the front.

The script and the powerpoint can be downloaded for free above.

Sara co-leads engageworship.org together with husband Sam, drawing from her experience in music, worship and youthwork. She is also a mum of two wonderful children and they all live in groovy Luton.

I used this yesterday and it worked well in our traditional service for people to personally reflect on the questions with music in the background, various people said it was very thoughtful and helpful so thank you very much! (Loved the font)
